Base Camp Greenland

Stay in an expeditionary camp in an extremely remote region on the edge of the vast Sermilik Fjord, reachable by helicopter and boat. From this place that is home to less than 130 hardy people, explore the 2,000-foot vertical cliffs of Soemandsfjeldet by zodiac and embark on guided sea kayaking in the bay. Explore the mountainsides and wander near glaciers that wind down from the Greenland Ice Sheet, binoculars in hand to scope out nearby wildlife like arctic fox, eiders, loons and peregrine falcons.

Meet Inuit Communities

Experience Inuit culture when visiting the remote villages where hunting and fishing remain at the centre of the community. Though this area is profoundly secluded, the wider region is dotted with a few isolated villages where Greenlandic Inuit people practice subsistence lifestyles in this stunning yet uncompromising Arctic environment. Explore Tasiilaq

Wander the town of Tasiilaq and hike above the scenic bay with dazzling views of the ice–clad gneiss and granite peaks that provide a spectacular backdrop to the waterfalls and lakes fringed with arctic wildflowers. This vibrant town of 2,000 inhabitants is a hub for outdoor adventure, from hiking and kayaking in summer to dog sledding and heli-skiing in winter.

Base Camp Greenland has introduced a touch of luxury in the Arctic giving a whole new dimension to exploring Greenland’s wilderness. More expedition lodge than camp Base Camp Greenland accommodations comprises of individual safari-style tent cabins, sleeping two guests in each. The cabins are warmed by an individual heater and have twin beds complete with cosy duvets and comfortable pillows, writing desks with chairs, and an ensuite loo and sink. Showers are taken in separate bathhouses segregated by gender.
