FAQs FAQs

SagittaMarine Iguana

Do I need a wetsuit?
Due to the cold Humboldt current the water is far from warm and yes it is certainly advisable/more comfortable to have a wetsuit. Most of the boats that we recommend have these on board.

Will I get seasick?
There is always the possibility and this depends to a certain extent on you. We can recommend more stable boats, such as the catamarans, and indeed it is possible to visit the Galapagos without stepping onto a boat although in our opinion this would be a shame.

Can I stay on the Galapagos?
It is possible to stay on Isabela, the largest island, but again if you were just to do this you would be missing out.

Is it a children friendly destination?
Yes must definitely - I wish my parents had taken me there when I was a child. Have a look at our family section for more details on some family holiday options in the Galapagos.

When is the best time to go?
The Galapagos, being on the Equator, are a year round destination. Have a look at our When to Visit section or call us on 01285 885333 to find when to go your Galapagos holiday.

Do I have to be a qualified diver to enjoy the Galapagos?
Not at all. There is much to see from the boat and on the islands themselves without ever getting wet. However there is some great kayaking and snorkelling to be had - swimming with sealions is still one of the highlights of my time in the Galapagos.

Having said that if you are diver there is much that awaits you. Speak to us about specific diving boats.
