Is self-drive an option?
Yes although we recommend that you do not drive at night. Full information and maps are provided when you pick up/receive (it can be delivered to wherever you are staying) your hire car. There is also the option of hiring a phone.

Do I need to hire a car?
Not if you don't want to. We can organise private transport for you throughout your itinerary and in most cities taxis are cheap and easily accessible/ordered.

Are South African bed and breakfasts like English bed and breakfasts?
No, on the whole they are smarter and more like boutique hotels.

Can I scuba dive?
Yes off the Natal coast and off Hermanus you can cage dive with great white sharks!

Is it a malarial area?
Yes much of the country is but there are, uniquely, malaria-free options for safari which are extremely children friendly.
