Gelukkig bestaan ze nog. Ook ik mocht in oktober een half uur lang een jaguar gadeslaan, die op jacht was in de Pantanal. Deze ervaringen blijven je een leven lang bij en wij hopen dat zij mensen inspireren om zich in te zetten voor een betere wereld. Afgelopen donderdag mochten wij aanwezig zijn op de Future for Nature Awards uitreiking. Drie jonge natuurbeschermers kregen ieder 50.000 euro om hun doelstellingen te realiseren. Mij inspireerden ze vooral om door te gaan mensen in contact te brengen met natuurbescherming en de fantastische ‘wildlife’ ervaringen die hiermee gepaard gaan.
