Orinoquia Lodge
Orinoquia Lodge is wedged between the rapids of Atures and Maipures, atop a rocky granite outcrop on the banks of Rio Orinoco.
Located less than half an hour south of Puerto Ayacucho, Orinoquia Lodge offers an adventurous gateway into the Amazon Rainforest. The lodge features 12 individual round huts topped with Moriche weaved roofs in a typical indigenous architectural style. All huts feature a private shower room and are equipped with a smattering of comfortable furnishings, mosquito nets and ceiling fans. Regional style family meals are served in the main lodge alongside a well-stocked bar.
Besides rafting on the mighty rapids, daily excursions from Orinoquia Lodge include visits to Cerro Pintado, Piaroa indigenous communities, Isla Garcita, and Tuparo National Park.
