Orinoco Delta Lodge
Orinoco Delta Lodge lies on the banks of Caño Guamal amidst a remote wilderness of lofty Moriche palms and swampy mangroves along the Orinoco Delta.
The owners have developed an excellent relationship with local Warao Indians by providing employment, medical assistance and educational support as well as a low impact operation that assures the survival of this beautiful but fragile part of the world. Accessed solely by canoe or motor boat, this secluded lodge offers 40 screened cabañas, each raised on stilts and connected by a series of wooden walkways.
A large Warao-style churuta houses the dining room and lounge where meals are served family-style and overlooking the river. Daily excursions include river exploration by dugout canoe in search of river dolphins and caiman, visits to the local Warao communities, and treks into the jungle.
