Tambopata Research Centre
Tambopata Research Centre is a remote rainforest lodge set within the depths of Tambopata Nature Reserve, and in close proximity to the world’s largest known clay lick and Parque Nacional Bahuaja Sonene.
Frequently visited by research biologists, Tambopata Research Centre also receives a limited number of tourists. The lodge offers 18 simple and rustic rooms partially open to the rainforest and all interconnected by a series of covered walkways that lead to a shared bathroom and dining room area. Electricity is limited and kerosene lamps are provided at dusk.
Due to its secluded location, visits to the Tambopata Research Centre are combined with a stay at Refugio Amazonas.
