Trip Summary
Two spectacular rail journeys operate in Peru enabling travellers the opportunity to explore far reaching destinations in comfort and style at a much faster pace, ideal for shorter itineraries.
Named after the explorer who discovered Machu Picchu in 1911, the Hiram Bingham train operates services between Poroy (on the outskirts of Cusco) and Machu Picchu. With an opulent interior and a gourmet menu, this is by far the most luxurious way to discover the Inca Citadel. Alternatively, the popular 'Vistadome' train offers panoramic windows for unsurpassed views on the journey from Poroy (near Cusco) or the Sacred Valley to Machu Picchu.
For a longer trip the deluxe Andean Explorer unites two of Peru’s leading attractions on a train journey between Lake Titicaca and Cusco. This spectacular route winds through the towering Andean mountains to the higher Andean plains with a scenic stop at La Raya enroute.
These trains only operate during the day so onboard accommodation is not provided, hotels can be arranged in all of the towns enroute.
