Journey Idea Outline

Day 1:
Depart London on your flight to Lima via Madrid, overnight at Sonesta Posada Miraflores.

Day 2:
Take a morning boat trip to Palomino Islands where a large sea colony will play and swim around your boat. It is possible to swim with them wearing a wetsuit and floats. Your afternoon will be at leisure to explore the city.

Day 3:
Take a luxury coach trip to Ica. Enjoy views of the Pacific Ocean, sand dunes and small towns on the way, overnight at Las Dunas Hotel.

Day 4 to 5:
Two full days to enjoy the facilities and activities on offer at the hotel. There is swimming, tennis, volley ball, football, riding and cycling. If you are feeling particularly adventurous explore the nearby sand dunes.

Day 6:
Return by coach to Lima, overnight at Sonesta Posada.

Day 7:
Fly to Puerto Maldonado and transfer on a two and a half hour boat ride to start your three night Amazon rainforest experience. Overnight at Refugio Amazonas.

Day 8 to 9:
Enjoy two days of the many activities on offer in the rainforest including the Caiman search and the Childrens Rainforest Trail.

Day 10:
Fly from Puerto Maldonado to the Inca capital of Cuzco, spend the day relaxing to acclimatise to the altitude. Overnight at the Casa San Blas Boutique hotel.

Day 11:
Visit the Sacred Valley following the Urubamba River to discover local towns, ruins, markets and the Inca terracing (farming). Overnight at the Urubamba Lodge.

Day 12:
Enjoy a full day in the Sacred Valley either rafting, horse riding, mountain biking or just relaxing at the hotel next to the river.

Day 13:
Travel by train along the Urubamba valley to Aguas Calientes, where a bus ride will take you up to the magnificent citadel of Machu Picchu. Afternoon at leisure to explore the ruins as a family.

Day 14:
This morning is free to enjoy the hotel activities or re-visit the ruins before the afternoon train back to Cuzco. Overnight at the Casa San Blas Boutique.

Day 15:
Enjoy a half day trip exploring the city and surrounding ruins and visit the local markets, overnight.

Day 16:
Depart Cuzco for you overnight flight back to London via Lima and Madrid.

Day 17:
Return to the UK.
