This truly amazing trek takes you beyond Machu Picchu to a rarely visited place – Espiritu Pampa  which is the definitive final outpost of the Inca Empire. Following an in-depth exploration of Cusco and the Sacred Valley you visit the fabled Machu Picchu before heading further into the jungle into the Vilcabamba region, following in Hiram Bingham's footsteps of 1911. 

This rewarding low altitude trek offers the seasoned traveller the chance for a spectacular journey which is rarely undertaken. The trek takes you to Machu Picchu, discovered by Hiram Bingham in 1911, but takes you beyond the tourist trail, following the footsteps of the Incas to the site of their final settlement - Espiritu Pampa.

The group will be led by explorer and author, Hugh Thomson. Since 1982, Hugh has led many expeditions to Peru becoming one of the foremost modern explorers of Inca settlements.  His first book 'The White Rock' was writen after a 20 year quest to explore and understand beyond Machu Picchu.
