Hacienda San Agustín de Callo
Hacienda San Agustín de Callo is an attractive working farm established on the site of an Inca fortress at the flanks of Cotapaxi Volcano, south of Quito.
The unique architecture of this 15th century hacienda is attributed to its illustrious history having served as an Inca fortress, an Augustinian convent and also the temporary lodging for the French Geodesic Mission. Today it offers 6 king-size suites and 5 double rooms, comfortably situated in the Inca house, Callo House and Cotopaxi House. All rooms are beautifully appointed with beamed ceilings, hardwood flooring, and a working fireplace, all brightened with bold splashes of colour and handpainted murals.
At Hacienda San Agustín de Callo you can dine in a room constructed by the Inca's and get married inside the effortlessly romantic Inca chapel. Moreover, owing to its superb location, the hacienda offers trout fishing in its freshwater streams and an extensive programme of tours into Cotopaxi National Park including horse riding, mountain biking and treks.
