Colombia holiday overview
Medellin, the ‘City of Eternal Spring’, has hosted an annual Flower Festival for over 50 years, which takes place for 10 days in early August. In 2012 the festival will run from 2 - 12 August. Boasting the largest flower parade in the world, visitors will find themselves amidst a wonderful burst of colour and the scent of fresh flowers throughout the city.
One of the highlights of the festival is the parade of the Silleteros, a procession of men and women carrying wooden constructions elaborately decorated with beautifully coloured flowers. Over 25 species of flowers are used in the arrangements from lilies and carnations to gladioli and orchids. Also experience the parades of classic cars, recitals and concerts which are all part of some 140 cultural events.

Trip price from £2,495 per person including international and domestic flights, hotels with breakfast, all transfers, tickets to the Silleteros parade in Medellin and a selection of tours in Bogota and Cartagena.
