Puyuhuapi Lodge & Spa
The luxurious Puyuhuapi Lodge and Spa, 11 kilometres south of Puerto Puyuhapi, is an impressive wooden structure set on the edge of a beautiful fjord. Reached by road and boat, the nearest airport is Balmaceda, however a stay here can be combined with a self-drive trip along the Camino Austral, one of the great road journeys of South America.
The emphasis is on relaxation and the outdoors with a number of different packages catering to those who are interested in enjoying the spa facilities and/or the activities on offer. Guests can fly-fish in pristine waters, kayak through the fjordlands, hike through the Queulat National Park to the impressive hanging glacier. One of the highlights of any stay is the San Rafael Glacier which guests can visit by boat on the transfer to the lodge or back to the mainland depending on the package.
All 41 rooms are of a good size, crafted from local wood, offering balconies and panoramic views across the bay. All bathrooms are fed from the natural thermal springs and they have newly opened a spa which has several indoor pools, jacuzzi and a fully-equipped Thalassotherapy Centre.
