Trip Summary
Travelling with Cruceros Australis; The Via Australis and Stella Australis are expedition cruise ships that sail through the Straits of Magellan and the Beagle Channel, exploring one of the most beautiful wilderness regions in the world: Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego, at the southernmost tip of the South America. Offering an alternative of 3 or 4-night cruises, from September through April each year, the ships set sail three times a week from the Chilean city of Punta Arenas, and three times a week from the Argentine city of Ushuaia, on Tierra del Fuego.
Each voyage sails through channels, bays, fjords, and past glaciers, snow-capped mountains, islands and unexplored forests of incomparable beauty. You will have the chance to see penguins, elephant seals and sea lions, as well as the imposing Pia, Marinelli, Piloto, Nena Glaciers, which are visited by so few ships let alone tourists.
Experience exciting adventures all the way to Cape Horn, the last promontory seen by those bound for Antarctica and the point where the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans meet.
Take daily excursions by zodiac or on foot where the ship’s guides will inform on the dramatic scenery, region’s unique flora and fauna and the history of its first inhabitants. In short, exploring Patagonia aboard one of Cruceros Australis’ ships is the adventure of a lifetime!
The Cruceros Australis cruises make for superb addition to a more extensive South America holiday and it can also be combined with longer stays in Patagonia.
