Convento do Carmo
The Convento do Carmo is a beautifully restored 16th century convent situated at the top of a steep cobblestone street in the charming Pelourinho district of Salvador.
Convento do Carmo houses 79 individual rooms and suites all occupying the original sleeping quarters. Each room exposes elements of striking colonial architecture, including ancient beams and rafters, coupled with elegant period-style furnishings to retain the original character and grandeur of this historical building.
Traditional Portuguese cuisine is served in the exceptionally beautiful restaurant graced with religious artworks and relics. The hotel also offers a bar, fitness centre, sauna, spa and an oval-shaped outdoor pool.
