A little more about Brazil’s Beaches
Blessed with year round sunshine, warm waters and a fine sandy shoreline, it’s hardly surprising that for most Brazilians beach culture reigns high in their list of daily priorities. The Atlantic coastline of Brazil stretches for over 4,550 miles, interlaced by hippy hangouts, hidden sandy coves, secluded islands and sophisticated beach resorts to cater to every whim. Among your choice are the protected beaches of Fernando do Noronha, the bikini-clad playground of Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro, picturesque Pipa and the lesser known Praia da Fazenda near Picinguaba.
Activities along the coast and out on the water are endless with kite surfing, water skiing, windsurfing, sailing and excellent deep sea fishing. Moreover, with a treasure trove of coral and reefs there is much to offer under the waves with some excellent diving and snorkelling in the likes of Fernando do Noronha, Buzios and Paraty among others.
When to go
The majority of the beaches of Brazil are almost year-round destinations, however the beaches to the south of the country, such as Florianopolis, are cooler during the winter from May to September.
