A little more about Buzios
A few hours’ drive up the coast from Rio, Buzios is nestled along the magnificent shores of a scenic peninsula that juts out into the Atlantic Ocean. Once a sleepy fishing village, Buzios is renowned for being discovered by Bridget Bardot in the 1960’s. It has since become a popular weekend spot for Rio’s residents, still retaining much of the original charm of its fishing-village past despite the moniker of being Brazil’s St Tropez.

The peninsula is dotted with small coves and crescent-shaped bays and offers easy to reach stretches of sand and sea to suit everyone from surfers and divers to sunbathers and sailors. Many of the beaches offer great restaurants and bars, whilst the cobbled main street the Rua Das Pedras, is home to a wealth of high-end boutiques, restaurants and bars. Explore on horseback, bike, car, beach buggy or boat.

We use a variety of charming boutique hotels or pousadas set away from the hustle and bustle of the main street. Buzios is also home to some of the most impressive and contemporary private villas in Brazil, do ask for further details.

When to go
Buzios is a year round destination thanks to a pleasant year-round climate with average temperatures in the mid-20s. The warmest time of year is during Brazil’s summer from November to March, though it should be noted that this coincides with high season. Book early for stays over New Year, Carnival and summer weekends when it will be busier.
