Oruro Carnival

The Oruro carnival

Once a year Oruro, a small mining town in the Altiplano of Bolivia, comes alive with colour, dance, music and celebrations.

La Diablada is the largest annual cultural event in Bolivia, declared by UNESCO in 2001 as one of mankind’s masterpieces this is a truly wonderful spectacle which rivals Rio carnival.  Taking place along the streets of Oruro, rather than in a stadium,  why not join the local festivities and pay homage to Pachamama (mother earth).

The carnival can easily be added to your itinerary, for more information please contact Emma: 01285 885 333

Carnival Dates:
4th - 8th March 2011
17th - 21st February 2012
