Northeast Argentina

Northeast Argentina

A fairly new addition to tourism in Argentina expanding from Iguazu, the Northeast focuses predominantly on water where rivers flood green pastureland making this a haven for bird watchers.  The Ibera wetlands is home to Jaibiru, marsh deer, caiman and capybara in the Esteros del Iberia and is sometimes compared to the Brazilian Pantanal which is three times the size.

Iguazu falls are awe inspiring and between the Ibera wetlands and Iguazu one can visit the Jesuit Missions whilst staying at an estancia en route.  The Northeast of Argentina borders Uruguay, Paraguay and Brazil making the area very accessible.
