Trip Overview
Traverse the Russian waterways between Moscow and St Petersburg, taking in two of Russia’s greatest and most iconic cities as well as experiencing some of what rural Russia has to offer. Travellers often go to just one of these cities, but this voyage allows you to see both in one trip without the added hassle of having to repack. Take in the most magnificent sites in these two cities, from the Kremlin and Red Square in Moscow, to St Isaac’s Cathedral and the world famous Hermitage in St Petersburg. The beautiful areas between these cities are often discounted, which is unfortunate when they have so much to offer. The cities in the Golden Ring and the quintessentially Russian rural areas, so less visited by tourists, house stunning architecture, opportunities to see some of the greatest Russian art and an insight into summer life for the people of Russia. Visit picturesque lakes, quaint villages and historically significant places of interest dating from the 10th century.
