North America

Whale and Zodiac in Alaska

North America is a land of diversity and home to a vast wilderness of untamed forest, desert, tundra, volcanoes and lakes. It offers travellers a range of experiences, from whale watching in Baja California to the wild frontier of Alaska.

In the far north lies Alaska. Separated from the rest of the United States by Canada, it is an outdoor world, a wild frontier, and a land of many faces. Often so vast and roadless that many areas still remain inaccessible, an Alaskan cruise aboard a small ship with the freedom of a flexible itinerary and a shallow draft to access the quieter backwaters is the perfect way to unlock this wild frontier and get up close to its wildlife.

Lying just south of California, a narrow stiletto-like peninsula separated from mainland Mexico by the Sea of Cortez, Baja is an inexhaustibly rich region with huge appeal. Its coastal waters harbour one of the richest marine environments on the planet, while over 3,000 plant species flourish in its pristine desert landscape.

The main areas in North America which Steppes Travel operates in are Alaska and Baja California, but we are happy to look into extensions within certain areas of North America if required.
