Lahore Holidays
Although Lahore is not Pakistan's capital city it is known by frequent travellers and locals as the Country’s cultural and artistic centre. Full of Mogul architecture it offers an evocative mixture of formidable Mughal monuments and faded legacies of the British Raj.
Sites within the city waiting to be explored include the city museum, the fine bazaar, perfect for strolling around during the afternoon or evening, the formal gardens or magnificent fort. On the outskirts of the city is the Zam-Zammah, a canon where Kim would sit or stroll through in defiance of municipal orders.
Over the years tourism in Lahore has developed and it is increasingly becoming a social and cultural metropolis. It is also close to Wagah, which is the border between Pakistan and India and the daily closing of the border and flag lowering ceremony is a must see, as it is when both Country’s soldiers out march and salute each other.
