Terai & National parks

Nepal National parks

Between the base of the Himalayas and the Indian border lies a thin belt of jungle known as the Terai, part of which has been designated a national park.   Chitwan National Park in Central Nepal and Royal Bardia National Park in the west are home to tiger, leopard, several species of deer and the one horned Indian rhinoceros.  There are a number of jungle lodges to choose from which manage to combine a high standard of service with simple luxury. Days can be spent driving or walking with rangers, bird watching (there are over 400 varieties of bird) or, in the mornings and evenings, going out on elephant back in search of tiger.
