Ambady Estate
An environmentalist’s dream Ambady Estate is located in Munnar, Eastern Kerala. Lush rainforest sourrounds the 100 year old smoking house that is located on a large private plantation estate.
The Hosts, Dr. Rajesh Madenan and his wife are avid conservationists and renowned for their Keralan cuisine. Their 75 acres estate, sprawls boundlessly behind the century old smoking house, which is still used to dry and process the cardamom from the plantations. With a plethora of tropical fruit trees as well as exclusive rainforest fauna and grasslands on top of the mountains, the region is a natural wonder. If you are well scheduled, you can catch the unusual blue “Neelakurinji” flowers which bloom once in twelve years or the sporadic rare butterfly migration phenomena in the winters.
The eight high roofed rooms are decorated in soft hues with large French windows which overlook the green patch outside each room.
A new 'all-natural' dining room (built entirely out of organic material) is near the main bungalow, where guests can mingle and immerse in conversations with the family.
