Quinta Velha

Quinta Velha La façade principale pool Quinta Velha room

On the banks of the slow Mapusa River, surrounded by rice fields and coconut plantations, the market town of Moïra is said to owe its name to the Moorish occupation of the area. It is only a very short drive from the busier venues and beaches of Anjuna and Baga. From within this idyllic setting rises the luxurious Quinta Velha, once an Indo-Portuguese residence, now a beautifully restored French owned villa.

The property is splendid and the atmosphere of the house and gardens is utterly tranquil. The interiors are cool and tastefully designed with patina woodwork and local antiquities. A square courtyard forms the centre of the house in traditional Goan fashion, with a fountain dominating the setting, whilst a verandah wraps around the exterior. A vast terrace with a dining area overlooks the swimming pool which is set at the foot of the terraced garden.

The staff aim to please and serve excellent Goan-European meals in style, and an ayurvedic doctor and masseurs who come to the villa's own massage room are available for consultations and treatments on request. Quinta Velha is the perfect setting for a truly relaxing and pampering holiday.

The villa is approximately a one hour and fifteen minute drive from Goa airport.
