Trip Overview
Winding your way from Farakka, where the Hooghly splits from The Ganges, southwards to Calcutta, this is a charming river cruise through the little visited villages and towns of rural West Bengal. En route, undertake a varied programme of daily guided excursions by country boat, cyclo and on foot to palaces, temples and ruins of successive dynasties, a battle field tour of Plaissey where Clive’s victory changed the course of Indian history, as well as village visits where you are guaranteed a very warm welcome.
