Amantaka
Amantaka is the newly refurbished property in Luang Prabang, part of the Aman Resorts group. The name ‘Taka' originates from Tipitaka, the teaching of Buddha and the resort itself is situated just south of Phousi Mountain, resting on a pennisula framed by the mighty Mekong and Khan Rivers. The resort itself is housed in a series of beautiful French colonial buildings with high ceilings and shady verandas and is considered to be one of Luang Prabang's most beautiful properties.
Amantaka offers 24 suites, including eight Suites, four Pool Suites, eight Khan Suites, two Mekong Suites and two Amantaka Suites, all with spacious interior and exterior living areas. The king-sized bed is positioned in the centre of the suite beneath a traditional high ceiling. Facilities in all the suites include king sized beds, strategically placed in the centre of the room, writing desks, table and chairs, chaise lounge and cabinet containing a private bar. The private en suite bathrooms features twin vanities, a dressing area, shower, toilet, and separate bath. The main facilities at Amantaka include several dining options from authentic Lao and French-influenced cuisine to the finest international fare. There is also a dining room which captures an airy colonial ambience, while the Lounge Bar provides a relaxing setting for enjoying a pre-dinner or post-dinner aperitif.
