Eastern Turkey Holidays

Turkey, Mt Nemrut, Go Turkey gallery

Much less explored than the rest of Turkey this vast area of the country offers the intrepid traveller a perfect playground.

Offering beautiful scenery the northeast of the country is visited by few, mainly due to its remoteness. Here you can marvel in the diverse landscapes from Mt Ararat, Turkeys highest summit, Alpine forests in Karagol Sahara National Park, highland pastures and a wealth of castles, palaces, churches and Mosques. Much of this can be enjoyed with no other tourists in site!

Much of the southeast feels very different from the rest of the country with chunks of the territory being predominantly Kurdish.

The picturesque town of Mardin clings to the hillside, overlooking the plains of Northern Syria. Home to a melting pot of Kurdish, Christian, Yezidi and Syrian cultures the skyline of minarets and typically Islamic architecture have made this a candidate for UNESCO's List of 'Cities of World Heritage.'
Also found in this region are the ancient and mystical statues of Nemrut Dagi & Lake Van, a scenic spot backed by snow capped peaks.
