Beginning in the shadow of Mount Ararat, this tour takes you from the world famous illuminated manuscripts in Yerevan to the pilgrimage site of Echmiadzin, the 13th century monastic complexes of Saghmosavant and the staggering religious architecture of the complexes at Sanahin and Haghpat.
Crossing over in to Georgia, land of Jason and the Argonauts, you will discover dramatic, unspoilt scenery peppered with fascinating historical, religious sites. From Tbilisi’s Alaverdi Cathedral and Islamic quarter to the rock-cut monasteries of Gareja and the 16th-17th century monasteries at Gremi, you will savour not only magnificent art and architecture but also superb food and wine! A tour that offers a truly great opportunity to experience the magnificent heritage of Transcaucasia.
