Dolphin Island Lodge

Dolphin Island Lodge is a small rustic resort owned by a Kuna family on the private island of Uaguitupo in the San Blas Archipelago.

A speedboat transfers guests from Mamitupu to Uaguitupo, located just a short canoe ride away from the Kuna island community of Achutupo. Dolphin Island Lodge, also locally referred to as Uaguinega, provides beachfront accommodation on the shores of Uaguitupo in the style of 9 Kuna-style wooden cabanas.

Accommodation is simple yet comfortable featuring a private shower room, hardwood floors, bamboo or wood thatched walls and a queen-sized bed draped with mosquito nets. Some cabanas are powered by 24-hour solar panel energy; others have a limited electricity supply during the hours of 6am and 11pm only, outside of which lamps are provided. Hammocks can be strung up on your veranda in the shade of palm trees while you relax and watch gentle waves from the Caribbean Sea lap at shore. Dolphin Island Lodge also offers a choice of fresh seafood in the resort restaurant.

Dolphin Island Lodge offers a selection of guided tours included in their accommodation package. Guests are escorted on snorkelling trips, bird-watching tours and visits to Kuna communities on the neighbouring islands of Achutupu and Ailigandi. Additional tours can be organised to Pino Island, Mataputu, Ustupu and Ogobsucun for a small fee.
