Canal House
Modest and luxurious, Canal House is a boutique guesthouse in Casco Viejo, the Old Town of Panama City. Just opposite the Canal House is the newly renovated Panama Canal Museum as well as many other cultural institutions. Located in this interesting and pretty part of the city you can explore your surroundings at ease as you are just a short walk away from fine restaurants and local cafes.
A converted mansion built in 1893, Canal House is comprised of three suites; Miraflores, Gatun and Pedro Miguel, each named after the locks on the Panama Canal.
Miraflores is an oversized suite catering well for couples, families and a wonderful option for honeymooners. The suite is fitted with a king size bed, a table for private dining and an en suite bathroom. On the mezzanine there is a separate living room space with a desk, walk-in wardrobe and a daybed which can be used to cater for two more guests.
Gutun Suite is also fitted with a king size bed, there is a mezzanine with a day bed which can sleep two guests. This suite is a great option for families, friends travelling together and can also be arranged for two couples.
Pedro Miguel, the smaller suite, a comfortable room with a queen size bed. This room is a cosy and personal space which would be a lovely option for a couple travelling or single travellers.
All suites have wireless internet. Please take note that this hotel is managed until six in the evening by two English speaking managers, from then on the housekeepers who are not fluently English look after guests.
A comfortable living area offers a communal space were guests can relax. Visitors can also be hosted here. There is a communal library for guests to browse through the books and have some time in between exploring this interesting little country.
