Canopy Lodge
Canopy Lodge is a small and charming hotel nestled in the verdant foothills of El Valle and adjacent to a meandering stream in the protected area of Cerro Gaital Natural Monument.
Like its sister property Canopy Tower (Panama City), Canopy lodge hosts a strong emphasis on bird watching and due its prime location provides excellent opportunities to observe many tropical species including the Violet-capped Hummingbird, Social Flycatcher, Yellow-faced Grassquit and Crimson-backed Tangers.
Guest rooms are comfortably spacious with ceiling fans, twin queen or a king size bed and a private bathroom with walk-in shower. The simple white décor highlights few furnishings with large sliding patio doors almost dominating the room, opening out onto a balcony or terrace, providing further opportunity to glimpse hummingbirds that frequent the surrounding gardens.
Accompanied by an experienced guide from the lodge, guests can enhance their bird watching abilities following innumerable bird trails leading into the cloud forest. Adrenalin fuelled individuals will also enjoy the opportunity to swoop through the canopy itself and alongside cascading waterfalls on a series of zip wires. Additional facilities at Canopy Lodge include a library, lounge, restaurant and bar.
