Palo Alto Riverside
Palo Alto Riverside is an upscale boutique hotel whose name derives from its tranquil location beside the banks of Palo Alto River, gently meandering down the forested highlands of Chiriqui and into the valley near Boquete.
The attractive New England style exterior gives way to an equally pleasant interior. There are just 6 spacious suites, each awash with ecru, white and chocolate tones, furnishings imported from Bali, a king-size bed and a private, Italian-designed bathroom with walk-in shower. Some rooms offer a romantic king-size canopied bed, bath tub, Jacuzzi, and picturesque views across the river and mountains.
Breakfast can be enjoyed al fresco on a stone terrace next to the river and during the evening the adjacent gourmet restaurant serves a fusion of Mediterranean, Asian and European cuisine. An intimate lounge area with deep cushioned sofas, original art work by notable Panamanian artists, and a hewn-stone fireplace offers repose in the main house. Glass doors from the lounge open out on to a small balcony terrace with a television. The Haven Spa & Wellness Centre offers a range of therapeutic treatments from hot stones to acupuncture.
