Red Frog Bungalows
Red Frog Bungalows is a small eco-friendly resort located just beyond the pristine sands of Red Frog Beach on the island of Bastimentos, a short taxi ride from Bocas town.
Owing its name to endemic red dart frogs that inhabit the island, this secluded development provides the only source of accommodation in the local area. Rooms are arranged between two three-storey Balinese buildings set amongst beautifully manicured tropical gardens, and provide accommodation for up to 6 guests. Each building offers simple but attractive hand-crafted Javanese teak furnishings from a sustainable plantation source and features a large indoor bathroom with compostable toilet and a canopied outdoor shower with spring-fed filtered water. Energy is provided by solar panels; however neither building supports air conditioning facilities. The main house offers a kitchen, dining area, and Jacuzzi as well as pool and ping-pong tables.
Red Frog Bungalows is the brainchild of renowned surfer Scott Balogh, who favoured the location for its superb beach break just a short walk from the property. Surfers and non-surfers alike are never too hard pressed to find fun waves and lasting memories here. Aside from surfing, a range of other activities are available including kayaking, snorkelling, fishing, wakeboarding and hiking
