Villa Camilla

Villa Camilla

Owned by the celebrated French architect Gilles Saint-Gilles, Villa Camilla is not merely a boutique hotel, but a showcase of fine craftsmanship situated on a forested ridge in the southern tip of the Azuero Peninsula, just outside the small fishing village of Pedasí.

Villa Camilla offers 7 guest rooms and suites, including 1 cottage for families. All accommodation is individually named, many according to a unique feature in its design; ‘Saffron’ is aptly named for its saffron-coloured Venetian plaster. High bamboo ceilings, terracotta or parquet floors and Chiriquí style stone walls are a key feature to the interior design of most rooms, characterised with quality furnishings including magnificent custom-made wooden furniture; hand carved by local artisans in the hotels own workshop. Original paintings and antiques collected from around the world add a further touch of elegance. Each large Tadelak style bathroom offers an oversized bathtub and walk-in shower.

Beautiful landscaped gardens surround a refreshing pool partially shaded by tall palms and a columned veranda, which also serves as a setting for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All meals are prepared with organic produce grown in the hotels gardens. A sundeck is available for those wishing to relax around the pool, or the beach is located just a 10 minute walk from Villa Camilla. Tours exploring the local area by foot or horseback can be arranged from the hotel which is also conveniently located for snorkelling and diving at the Isla Iguana Wildlife Refuge and visits to the turtle nesting beach on Isla Cañas.
