Hacienda Xcanatun

Main Entrance 1

Several years of dedicated restoration has transformed Hacienda Xcanatun (‘Tall Stone House’) into an extremely opulent hotel, located just north of Merida.

Historically an 18th century working hacienda, the original sisal plantation has been replaced with acres of private tropical gardens verdant in royal palms and bougainvillea, interlaced along meandering paths with ponds and fountains. Hacienda Xcanatun provides a collection of 18 lavish suites, with polished marble or stone floors, canopied beds, rich textiles, hand carved furniture, and large extravagant bathrooms. Some suites also feature a large terrace or balcony strung with hammocks and a patio with outdoor Jacuzzi.

To help make your relaxation complete Hacienda Xcanatun has two freshwater swimming pools fed by an underwater spring and overlooked by a full service spa offering an abundance of Mayan inspired beauty treatments. The former machine room now occupies ‘Casa de Piedra,’ the hacienda restaurant & bar. Savour an excellent fusion of Yucatecan, international and Caribbean haute cuisine with a French flair and on selected evenings live music accompanies the restaurant ambience.

A private country club offers golf and tennis facilities nearby or Hacienda Xcanatun is just a short drive from the lively bustle of Merida or the ancient Maya city of Dzibilchaltun.
