Casa Corcovado

Casa Corcovado

Set in a prime location only accessible by motor boat, Casa Corcovado offers guests a remote rainforest experience nestled within a 170-acre private reserve bordering Corcovado National Park.

A scenic 1½ hour boat journey cruising through the mangrove wetlands of Rio Sierpe and along the stunning contours of Costa Rica’s South Pacific Coast delivers guests to Casa Corcovado. This intimate lodge offers 10 individual bungalows constructed to sympathetically blend in with the natural surroundings. Each spacious bungalow offers a bright interior with peaked wooden beamed ceilings set above cool tiled floors. Rooms are cooled with ceiling fans and locally handcrafted shutters, with two single beds or a queen-size bed draped in mosquito nets. Solar systems provide electricity to all bungalows including hot water for each private shower room. A small porch with bench or hammock, just outside the entrance of each bungalow, offers the ideal opportunity to relax and glimpse birds frolicking amongst the fruit trees and tall shady palms.

Housed in an attractive white washed building with stained glass windows, ‘Los Vitrales’ offers an elegant dining experience specialising in seafood, tenderloin and pasta. Bar ‘El Bosque’ serves a selection of beverages and fresh exotic fruit juices in an open deck area overlooking the pool and a water feature amid the landscaped gardens.

Casa Corcovado boasts two lovely swimming options; a sectioned pool offering a shallow end for children, and a smaller, spring fed pool tucked away in the forest adjacent to a tranquil stream. Guests can also take a short jungle taxi ride to a secluded crescent shaped beach. A range of tours and activities exploring the reserve and local wildlife can also be organised at Casa Corcovado.
