Flor Blanca
Florblanca is a chic beach retreat tucked away amongst shady palms and fragrant frangipani trees along the far northern stretch of Playa Santa Teresa.
This secluded resort extends over seven acres, interlaced with 10 enormous villas comprising one or two bedrooms. Each lavish villa is shrouded amongst deep foliage and blends an eclectic mix of Latin American and Asian inspired teak furnishings throughout the spacious living quarters and onto the terrace. Four poster beds are draped in muslin, romanticised further with a beautiful stone bathroom featuring a sunken bathtub for two, and a shower. The lounge area is open to the elements on three sides, easily closed for privacy with drop-down shutters. Direct access to the rugged sands of Santa Teresa Beach and a Balinese–style lounging palapa is exclusive to just one villa, often used by honeymooners seeking ultimate privacy. In addition, Florblanca also provides spacious accommodation at the ‘Owners House’ on private property adjacent to the resort.
Breakfast, lunch, sushi and gourmet suppers infused with local and Asian flavours are served in the open air beachfront restaurant; ‘Nectar’. An extensive list of exotic cocktails plus Central and South American wines is available in the bar which overlooks the cascading freeform pool and stone paved sundeck.
The air-conditioned ‘Pacific Fitness Centre’ is equipped with cardio machines and free weights, and guests can participate in complimentary yoga lessons instructed twice daily at the open-air dojo. For total relaxation, Spa Bambu offers a selection of deep tissue massage and indulging body treatments, by appointment. Florblanca also houses a gift shop.
Although swimming is not advised in Playa Santa Teresa due to strong tides and a rocky reef break, surf here is world-class and lessons can be organised at the resort. Additional activities include horse riding along the beach and guided nature trails at Cabo Blanco Absolute Wildlife Refuge.
