A Fantastic Trip to The Falklands and South Georgia
Hamish & Dorothy Watson, December 2011

Overall we had a wonderful time in South Georgia, where we saw any amount of penguins and were very lucky with the weather. We were also woken up at 5:15 one morning on the way from The Falklands to South Georgia to see a huge pod of Orcas swimming round the boat. Everyone, including guides and crew, was very excited about this. It was like watching Frozen Planet.  The boat was very comfortable and after all our trouble to decide on a cabin which was central, away from banging doors etc, we were upgraded to cabin 604 which was very spacious and lovely to relax in when a moment of peace was wanted.

All the travel arrangements worked well and we had a very pleasant interlude in Madrid after our late decision to go a day early to escape the 30 Nov strike. By all accounts there was little disruption but our flight to Madrid had quite a few people who had switched. The LAN flights to and from Madrid were great.

We enjoyed the brief time we had in Stanley in The Falklands and think a longer trip would be very interesting .

Overall it was a fantastic experience with tremendous sights from big Orcas to newly born Gentoo chicks.

Thanks for all the advice and effort we received from you and Sue, and all the smooth arrangements you and all your colleagues made for us and best wishes to you all for a successful 2012.
