Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Vic Falls - Michael poliza

The town of Victoria Falls is in the province of Matabeleland North, in Zimbabwe. It lies on the southern bank of the Zambezi River at the eastern end of the Victoria Falls. The town itself has become a focal point for action-packed fun. Ranging from the glorious Flight of Angels, a helicopter ride over the falls, to fierce white water river rafting, kayaking and bungee jumping, there is something here for everyone.

Victoria Falls are undoubtedly one of the world's most magnificent sights; the Local people call it "Mosi-oa-Tunya" - the smoke that thunders.  At 1708 metres wide, Victoria Falls is the most expansive curtain of water in the world and drops more than 100 metres into the sheer Zambezi Gorge.

Close by there is a wide range of accommodation ranging from classic colonial hotel such as the Victoria Falls Hotel to luxurious camps including The Victoria Falls Safari Lodge.
