Mandy, our Zimbabwe specialist distinctly recalls the moment she first set foot in Zimbabwe in the early 90's and still rates this country as one of the most beautiful and rewarding of wilderness regions. What sets this destination apart from other safari destinations for Mandy is its people, who are as passionate as they are entertaining, and the sheer beauty of the country, which is, at times, simply breathtaking. The diversity of activities make for an exciting and varied journey.

Zimbabwe is located in Southern Africa and encompasses some of the continent’s most spectacular and varied scenery linked by the majestic Zambezi River.

The mighty Zambezi begins its lengthy journey by cascading over the panoramic Victoria Falls it is then squeezed through dramatic narrow gorges on its way to Lake Kariba, one of the world's largest man-made lakes. From there, it meanders on to Mana Pools National Park, a haven for wildlife, before continuing east and eventually exiting into the Indian Ocean.

For wildlife, the sheer scale of Hwange National Park, with its high concentration of elephants, the wilderness of Chizarira and the remoteness of Gonarezhou are just a few of the places waiting to be explored.

In contrast to its neighbouring countries a holiday to Zimbabwe offers unrivalled unique scenery, striking photographic sunsets and amazing wildlife opportunities. An African wilderness destination waiting to be explored and discovered.
