South Luangwa National Park
Marking the southern end of the Great Rift Valley, South Luangwa is the richest park in Zambia and possibly the finest wildlife sanctuary in Africa for scenery and variety of animals. Its 3,500 sq miles is unsurpassed and the Luangwa River, which meanders gently through it, enhances it even further.
A large number of the lodges are situated on ox bow lakes of the old river course, while some of the bush camps, which are mainly used for walking safaris, are of a more mobile nature. A combination of ox bow lakes, forest and plains are host to huge concentrations of game, while providing shelter to over 400 species of birds.
