The Lower Zambezi National Park

Riverside in Zambia

The Lower Zambezi National Park is a totally magnificent wilderness made up of the Zambezi River flood plain, a strip of woodland and grassland, and the more heavily wooded Zambezi Escarpment, which lies between the river plains and the central plateau to the north.

Up to a mile wide, the Zambezi River meanders alongside the park, attracting a variety of wildlife to its islands and so creating incomparable canoeing and game viewing opportunities.

Home to lion, leopard, herds of elephant and buffalo, hippo and over 300 bird species, the park with its gigantic baobab and acacia trees is the perfect destination for an African safari.  The variety of activities on offer in the area makes it an attractive area to unpack for a few days and enjoy the boating, tiger fishing, canoeing, bush walks and game drives or simply just enjoy the magnificant views and game from your camp.
