Jacana Lodge, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda

Jacana Lodge Jacana Lodge interior

Jacana Lodge is set on the edge of a crater lake and blends in perfectly with the wooded surroundings of the Maramagambo forest. The Lodge is built with careful use of rock, wood, rope and other natural materials it combines to form a unique natural rustic style. Due to its location within the midst of the forest, the lodge frequently has visits from the local white colobus monkeys, which play in and around the bar area, whilst other primates such as the baboons are never too far away.

Each of the eight rooms at Jacana Lodge is beautifully and uniquely furnished to high standards and all rooms are en suite with views over the lake and its stunning surroundings. The main building has a bar beside it and is situated in close proximity to the lake and the restaurant and lounge are higher up. There is also a swimming pool and surrounding sun deck. A floating dining area on the Crater Lake provides a tranquil and different option for sundowners and dinner in the evenings.
