Ishasha Wilderness Camp, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda

Ishasha Wilderness Camp Ishasha Wilderness Camp tent

Ishasha Wilderness Camp is a tranquil retreat situated within the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park on the Ntungwe River. It is the only luxurious camp in the area and offers complete relaxation in the vast and unspoilt surroundings of the Queen Elizabeth National Park. The position of the camp, in the southern part of the park is famous for its tree climbing lions, which can sometimes be spotted relaxing in the branches of the local fig trees. With the combination of wonderful game viewing opportunities for buffalo, elephants, topi and other species of antelope, the camp provides the ideal location, for a midway break, between gorilla viewing in Bwindi Forest National Park and the other areas or Kibale Forest.

The ten spacious East African style Meru tents at Ishasha Wilderness Camp are situated in the wooded area besides the river, and are comfortably furnished with their own private en suite bathroom and dressing area providing hot water "bush" showers and an eco friendly toilet. The camp also has a central lounge and dining area which is also under canvas and provides a cosy setting for meals and relaxing during the day. The outdoor sheltered area besides the river offers el fresco dining and an evening "fireplace" venue for guests who come to enjoy this unique bush experience offered at Ishasha Wilderness Camp.
