Kidepo Valley National Park Holidays
The Kidepo Valley National Park is one of Uganda's most impressive National parks. The park itself covers an area of 1,442 square kilometres and it is considered to have scenery unsurpassed in any other national park in East Africa. Situated in the corner of Uganda's border with Sudan and Kenya, it offers overwhelming Savannah landscapes, which end in rugged horizon. Due to the wide latitudinal range, climatic conditions have advanced and created a particularly diverse flora. As a result the variety of animal species in the park is equally abundant including many which are found nowhere else in Uganda.
Mountain forest dominates the high regions of the national park, while areas along the Lorupei River are supported by dense Acacia geradi forest. The flora and fauna of the park can be compared to that of the national parks found in Kenya other than the rest of Uganda.
Within the Park itself, the self-contained chalets at Apoka Rest Camp provide the most comfortable accomodation and are managed by the national park itself enabling a true Uganda forest retreat.
