Kirurumu Tented Lodge
Kirurumu Tented Lodge is set high on the edge of the Great Rift Valley, enjoying a marvellous, uplifting and panoramic view eastward over Lake Manyara the Rift floor and Mt. Losimingori. Behind Kirurumu, the Ngorongoro Highlands rise in green and fertile splendour and form the gateway to Ngorongoro Crater and, finally, Olduvai Gorge and the Serengeti.
The lodge has 22 rooms made up of 12 Twins room, which can also be used as single, four double rooms, four triple rooms. It also offers two honeymoon suites and two family cottages. All rooms offer Fully ensuite bathrooms, hot and cold running water and electricity. The bar area offers stunning panoramic views over the vast rift valley and its surroundings.
The Lodge is extremely unobtrusive, having been built with great sensitivity in line with the owner's commitment to eco-sensitive tourism. Great care was taken not to cut away any trees, the tent bases were made from local volcanic stone and the roofs are thatched, blending into the environment. Impact on the lodge's surroundings has been absolutely minimal, all utility lines are carefully placed underground and water is heated by solar panels. As a result, birdlife around the lodge has increased and even the shy dik-dik, the smallest of the antelope family, have remained resident around camp.
Kirurumu Tented Lodge supports the local community as well, providing clean, fresh water, and a supportive Community Development program.
