Meroe Tented Camp
The tented camp at Meroe is well positioned, facing west to ensure that all the tents overlook the pyramids and the setting sun. The tents are reminiscent of a bygone era with sturdy canvas walls, campaign type furniture standing on a hard concrete floor decorated with Bedouin style rugs.
There is no direct access to the private bathroom which is situated behind the tents and comes complete with a shower, toilet and basin.
The dining room has been built in homage to the view, the local materials and culture. It may be a bit cavernous but it provides shelter from the winds that can howl across the plains.
At the entrance to the camp, local traders set up stalls or offer you the chance to discover the pyramids by camel.
