Having been a safari guide and camp manager there in the past, Illona has extensive experience of travel in Africa and can help you plan a holiday to Sudan.
With a rich cultural blend of African and Arabian influences, Sudan is home to a dazzling array of languages, culture and landscapes. With some of Africa's most thrilling wildlife in the south, the bustling markets of Khartoum where the blue and white Niles meet, to the deserts of the Bayuda and Nubia, this is a country for the adventurous.
Currently Steppes Travel is only able to offer you visits to northern Sudan. The country will hopefully soon find some peaceful resolution to its complex problems as the south becomes independent from the north in July 2011. However what was once the largest country in Africa has so much on offer that it will take you more than one visit to satisfy your curiosity.
There is something for everyone in Sudan and once there, you will ask yourself why you haven’t considered it before.
Watch our slideshow presentation of a journey to Northern Sudan, taken by Illona on her travels in March this year.
