Phinda Forest Lodge, Phinda Private Game Reserve
Set deep in the heart of the rare Dry Sand Forest, the unique Phinda Forest Lodge has glass walls which offer sweeping views of one of the most unique ecosystems on the planet. The lodge offers a different style of bush accommodation in the heart of the Phinda Private Game Reserve.
The lodge has spectacular stilted suites which are an exemplary exercise in building eco-sensitive structures with a light footprint. Wake up to the sight of graceful nyala and duiker browsing in the foliage of the Sand Forest right outside the glass walls of one of the private suites. Inventively designed in what is often called "Zulu-Zen", each suite at the Phinda Forest Lodge is a combination of glass, wood and minimalist design incorporating high-gloss wooden floors and crimson Zulu artefacts. Delicious Pan-African cuisine is served on the deck at the Lodge, overlooking the grassy plains or in the boma which is illuminated by dozens of candles and lanterns. The carefully placed sandy paths point the way towards the lodge’s rim flow pool, allowing the ability to relax in the shade of the wooded canopy.
